Monkey Bread

1/2 c. shortening, melted
1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1 pkg. dry yeast

   Combine shortening, boiling water, sugar and
salt in a bowl and let cool. Dissolve yeast in
lukewarm water; beat eggs and add to yeast mixture.
Add yeast mixture to shortening mixture. Gradually
add flour. Mix thouroughly, cover and let rise 1
hour. Knead dough down.

1/2 c. lukewarm water
1 egg, room temperture
3 cups flour
melted butter or margarine

Roll out on floured surface to 1/4 inch thick. Cut
into various shapes. Dip each shape into melted butter and place in a tube or Bunt pan. Let rise
about 1 hour in a warm place. Bake at 350 deg.
for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool about 5 minutes.
Turn out on plate.
